Mommy Privileges

I am really enjoying being a Mommy. I think there are many privileges that come along with the hard work. Well, after all, we do get up in the middle of the night, clean up puke, change all manner of dirty diapers, test different stain removers, and listen to crying and whining; there should be a few perks. One is being able to take cute pictures with little hand prints, enjoying the fact that they are not permanently plastered on your wall. I love getting Emma to "help me with my jobs." She leaves her mark everywhere she goes.
Another perk that I am enjoying while it lasts is dressing them up in whatever you want. Erin and I played with hats the other day and I enjoyed it far more than she did, but, I am the Mommy. I choose what we do and what you wear. I know that will change, but I am savoring it while the time permits.
My privilege allows you to see such cute pictures. Another one of the privileges: showing other people my children and have them admire how cute they are. I know it is all my God's grace that they are so precious, but I am so proud to hear my children complimented.
I love introducing the girls to new things and watching their reactions. Erin tried graham crackers for the first time the other day and ate it like a pro. She loves her food.
Here she is with her sippy cup. Everyday is a new adventure. I love getting to be a part of that.
Watching the girls play and interact together is one of my favorite hobbies. We were all at the table the other day for the first time and we all had a blast. Seeing them grow up and do more and more thrills my Mommy heart.
Who wouldn't enjoy seeing her older daughter put her arm around her younger sister. Emma really does love Erin and wants to play with her all the time.
Mommies do not always see it a privilege to cook, but it becomes one when I can involve Emma. She likes to be right in the middle of what I am doing. It can sometimes be frustrating when there is a long to-do list, but when I stop to think, I feel appreciated and loved. I have a daughter that wants to be with me and do what I am doing, I am taking the opportunity now while she allows it to influence her little mind.
Mommies get to play outside and have an excuse to do it. I would normally coop myself up inside and clean, but the children give me a reason to get out and enjoy the spring.
Mostly, I get to enjoy and love these precious gifts God has given me. Happy Easter, everyone!

Lovely Rocks

Just a dose of cuteness to brighten up your day! Those are the most kissable checks I have ever seen.
Is that not the sweetest attitude you have seen? Gotta love it.

Here is a video of Emma and her precious rock collection. She cracks me up with how proud she looks of her beautiful rocks.

Boy, oh boy, I am tired.

Hi, everybody. It's me, Emma. We have been so busy around here. I am so glad to be back at my house for a little while. You can see I have been sleeping pretty hard to catch up on my beauty rest. That time change really messed me up!

We have had some pretty days lately. I have been playing really hard because I sure did miss being outside during the winter. My favorite thing is collecting rocks. They are so cool! I set them up on the porch and then I can look at them all the time. I hope spring is here to stay!
My Uncle John and Aunt Lucinda came to see me. All of us, even my Mamaw and Papaw, came to my house and had a fire and hotdogs and marshmallows.
This is Erin in one of the umpteen million hotels we have stayed in over the last few weeks. She is still little, so when we put her on the bed she gets a wall of pillows around her. My Aunt Valerie is so pretty, isn't she? We went all the way to Memphis to see her wedding. I got to walk down the isle with my Grammy. They said I was supposed to throw flowers, but I thought being the flower girl meant picking them up. So that is what I did. I picked up the flowers and put them back in my basket for safe keeping.
Erin got to wear the bow because I didn't like it. I know how silly it looks to wear big bows. The grown-ups all like it, but I don't see them wearing one.
When we got to our hotel, I was so tired of sitting still that I just had to get some energy out. I unpacked all of our things and got out all of the tissues just in case we needed them later.

I never forget in all of the craziness to be nice to Erin. I offer her some of my food. She likes french fries. You don't have to offer it long, she can grab really fast!

After we got home from the wedding, Momma had to pack us up again. We went on a trip with some of the kids from Daddy's school to Morgantown for a Latin convention. That night we had a toga dinner and Daddy thought it was funny to make togas for us out of the hotel pillowcases. I told you we have been busy. But it's good for us. Hope you enjoy it. I hope you all are enjoying spring too. Bye-bye.

Never a dull moment

Erin is growing and growing and growing. She is now sitting up on her own and she loves to play with toys. She has tried baby food and found that she likes it quite well although our food is beginning to temp her. She is such a smiley baby and adds so much joy to our household.
She is already practicing having her foot in her mouth. If she is anything like her Mommy and Daddy she will soon learn to perfect this trait.
Showing off her teeth. She has two little cute teeth on the bottom.
Emma just turned 18 months and she is more active than ever. She is just now starting to really play with her toys, which is fun to watch. On this particular day, we were headed out the door and she grabbed these two toys to take with her.
One of her favorites is to play with the pots and pans. She sets them up and moves around stirring in all of them.
Coloring is something new we are working on. She is doing pretty well but sometimes decides they taste better than they draw.
Learning to play together is our current undertaking. Emma doesn't like for Erin to have any toys at all and Erin grabs anything close by, which can turn into a kindly struggle. Very interesting to watch. Below is a video of Emma feeding her bunny. She did this one night without any coaching and we were very amused. You can also hear her say please in this video.
Well I have to go. Emma has finished playing in her oatmeal and Erin has lost her patience with the bouncer. I know the blogs have not been too numerous, but hopefully you will understand that my moments to get things done are becoming few and far between. As I finish up with the symphony of baby cries in my ears, I wish you a happy and quiet and productive day!
